I'm planning on installing a tile backsplash behind my stove. This is the flooring, though the color is a warmer tan than the picture show: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pro...d3c77b_300.jpg

These are the countertops: http://images.lowes.com/product/conv...98335911lg.jpg

We have white appliances and white cabinets.

The walls are a lemony-yellow.

Does anyone have any suggestions for backsplash tile colors? I haven't found much inspiration online, as most of the pictures I have found are very-high end.

Right now, I'm leaning towards a glass tile with different shades of beige, though I feel that could be pretty bland.

Thank you!

I'd pull the pale grey from the floor and the counter for the backsplash. It will look elegant with your white cabinets.

Whatever color you choose, only use one shade. There's too much going on in the countertop.

You want a solid color for the backsplash. You don't want too much stuff competing in your kitchen.

Understated elegance is better. Let your countertop be the star.

I hadn't considered gray...... Interesting idea....... That would certainly take away the blandness that too much beige can create....

Thank you!

I completely agree with Hopes. I have seen a transparent, subway shaped tile in a warm grey as a backsplash- it looked great. Very subtle but added style, gave the kitchen a clean/ contemporary touch.

I often see the backsplash gone wild . It's tempting to try to make a statement with the tile, but it often overwhelms the room. Good luck!

I agree with the others about the gray. Be sure it's a solid gray. You can use metal liner bar pieces to break up the solid gray and it make a beautiful accent to the tile backsplash. Once area of concern might be your wall color. You have alot of taupe/grey going on and the lemony-yellow might not blend well unless it has a beige hue to it....kind of like a warm blonde.

Yes, yes - gray is a great idea. I agree it should also be a "clean lines" backsplash as the floor and countertop already have a lot of movement and pattern.
I'm also wondering if you shouldn't reconsider the lemon yellow paint. I'm thinking a soft taupe, or a gray/blue would really pull it all together.

Thanks everyone. I agree about the paint - we're just leaving it as it has been. In the end, we'll probably end up repainting.
