Or just use a fitted sheet instead of a bed skirt.
I've done this and it works very well. Have also used large tablecloths, sheer curtains, or whatever large fabric that matches the bed. And it's a snap when it comes to washing.
The other suggestion is to shop around thrift shops and consignment shops for bed skirts that can match your set, the skirts that have the whole piece of fabric covering the boxspring so no more pins needed. I've seen skirts, including designer brands, that were either new or barely used.
I've never heard of this. All the bed skirts I've ever purchased have the fabric which covers the entire top of the box springs/foundation. Guess you learn something new every day.

These types of skirts are the older type. I can't remember the last time I saw them sold in stores!

I bought one from JC Penney online recently...along with a new comforter for my son's bed. I believe the same line is also available in their retail stores.
There are two types - "twisty pins" and "bedskirt staples". You can pick them up at Bath/Linen stores or craft stores. Craft stores have them in the notions aisle. Bath/Linen stores have them throughout the linens departments. Sometimes the big box stores have them, but the linen stores ALWAYS do.
