I got a the CEL ON, on my 1999 Honda accord which i just bought 1 month back. I showed the car at Aamco and they gave me some very high quotes. I reconfirmed the error codes at a nearby O'reilly and the two code that the car's computer threw are

P1456 and P1738

Now, when i checked on the internet, many people have suggested that the P1456 is mostly because of the gas cap not fitted properly or it is faulty and the problem may go away if did the needful

Can anyone throw more light on the other code P1738 and tell me what may be the probable causes and solutions ?

Sorry for bumping to this thread few years later but I just saw it.

The P1456 means that you have problems with your fuel tank - EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank System)

while the P1738 code means a general error with the transmission axle and differs from the honda model (engine and transmission) you have.
