1.Post the year of the auto in question? 1991

2.The manufacture (make) Honda

3. The Model 1991

4. The number of Miles or Kilos on the auto. 165,000

I have a 1991 Honda Accord, the passenger shoulder belt will not go up when you close the door, the seat belt light beeps and it's driving me crazy. I took the car to the dealer and they said "they have to remove the passenger seat to find out what's wrong. Can I remove a fuse to stop the seat belt light from beeping because no one is going to ride in the passenger seat?

Isn't them mechanism that moves it up in the pillar/roof area? I am not sure how removing the seat will help. I will wiggle it a bit and see if you get any action. If you are lucky, it will get stuck in the up position.

You should be able to open the area and push it to the up position to turn the chirp off. Then the passenger will have to buckles the belt in the base (which would then mean two buckling per ride).

Little known facts:

The 1990-1991 Honda Accord, Civic and prelude automatic seatbelts have a lifetime warranty. See page 22 of your warranty guide.

There also should be a platic plug on the b-pillar to crank them all the way back if they're stuck see page 126 of your owners manual.

I had a a 92 Accord (same car as yours) and never had these seat belt sensors. I had an LX, maybe they had them on the EX?

My 2006 Camry has them and I hate them because I don't wear seat belts, but the chime goes away after 7 seconds.

Even the non-auto seat belts have a lifetime warranty. I had an 89 Integra that had the seat belt retractor break. I took it into the dealer and they eventually got me the replacement seat belt. It was the wrong color, but hey, I traded the car in to them not long after.

7.5A radio(backup)*memory fuse [first fuse in underhood box] but this also disables the radio and seatbelts. Remove it with belts in closed position (for quick temp fix). Did so until I can get to the dealership to inquire about warranty
