I'm torn between the two cars.

I know both are Honda made, but I've seen Acura's with similar miles go for less than a Accord. Why is that?

What should I know about them and which is a better more reliable car?

Thanks in Advance!

Accord. The TLX is so “blah” to me. Just don’t think you get enough extra content over a comparably equipped Accord to justify the price difference.

The TLX has never sold well or developed much of a loyal following so that’s why the resale stinks. That is the main reason in addition to the fact most “luxury” sedans depreciate quickly these days.

There used to be Acura TSX before 2014 model year. All of them were built in Japan.

I Own a second gen TSX and they are very good cars and built in Japan. The TLX is nice but feels less sporty than the TSX. TSX is also a smaller car. I honestly like the TLX styling compared to the Accord and they are not as common than accords. If it was me I would buy the TLX

The base engine in the TLX is a bit under powered, so if you are not getting the V6 and AWD, I would tend to look at the Accord over the Acura. The Acura does have good features for the price, with the jewel headlamps, safety equipment, etc., that does differ from the Accord, so that would also be a factor, but both are pretty close in equipment offerings considering a top-range Accord versus a mid-range TLX.

TLX. The 4cyl equipped TLX comes with an 8-speed DCT while the Accord EX comes with a CVT. Both share the same 2.4 inline 4 but the TLX produces 206hp while the Accord produces 185hp. The TLX also feels much more premium than the Accord.

I’d vote for the Accord if we were comparing the TLX to the latest generation Accord.
