How would I go about finding out whether or not a neighborhood has a gas line hooked up? I am interested in buying a home in Las Vegas but both the water heater and the stove are electric. I am worried that the whole neighborhood might be electric. Anybody have any suggestions on who I should call/contact to find this out?

Thanks,
-Mike

Call the utility company if your interested in a neighborhood. They can also tell you how much to get gas service to a particular house if you want it.

The realtor will know.

Also, ask a neighbor. Good way to meet them.

1. Ask the utility company.
2. The MLS listing should show if there is gas.
3. While in the neighborhood, look at the sides of the houses for the gas meters.
4. See #1.

Might be easier to go propane if natural gas is not provided.

Check your deed. It should be on there.

You did pay for a new survey when you bought... right?
The old one should still have the gas line (and ROW) marked too.

Here's the County info on the property. From this page, you may be able to dig deeper into your County's records to get all the info. Many County's have the info online. Some, you may need to go to their office.
