We are about to move a mobile home & it has several large mirrors that are attached to the interior walls. They were put on at the factory and appear to be GLUED onto the walls....there doesn't appear to be any way to remove them, other than trying to pry them off. They are large.

Question: would you try to pry them off, which will surely harm the wall beneath, and may crack the mirrors, or just hope for the best?

I thought about putting tape across them in an X pattern...? Would that do any good?

We are going about 75 miles, so quite a trip to move a mobile home.

TIA for any help

How are you moving the home? On a frame with wheels? On a lowboy stretch trailer? Anything you put under the mobile home should have "air bags" so the MH will ride smooth and the air bags will absorb all shocks and bumbs in the road. Ask you mover if he is using an "air ride" type trailer, and if he isn't, find out if he can provide one, or ask other movers if they have air ride trailers for these moves. This will work to prevent damage of your property.

You have to have the air bags and you should check the trailer when it shows up and ask the driver to show them to you.

I never heard of that. Typically a MH is hooked up to a semi-cab and pulled and the MH rides on its tires.

If the axiles were removed, the MH movers will attche a temp unit or use a trailer depending on the move. Normally the MH movers are resoponsible for securing the fixtures (mirrors, wall/ceiling lights, and everythingt hat is built into the home). Bring your concern to their attention and have them provide the best solutions based on distance, road conditions and whatever else they need to deal with. Thats what your paying them for.

We moved a mobile home about 8 or 9 years ago and the attached mirrors made the trip just fine (about 50 or so miles). I don't remember if the movers put tape over them or not. I don't remember anything at all breaking during that move. The movers did a good job.

Don't worry about it. They are delivered with mirrors attached.

The tape is to help contain possible breakage, not to prevent it! Not a bad idea, just don't worry too much about it; just be careful....
