Hey folks, I have searched the web looking for an interier door hinge that keeps a door open. My dog does into my bathroom and gets locked in because the door slowly moves closed. I have tried the door-stop but my family (myself too) rarely places the stop back in position after use.
Most spring loaded hinges are for self closing but I'm having a time finding one that opens a door. I know I can use other devises but I really don't want to add anything tacky. Re-fitting the frame will be way more work than its worth because of the position of the door/frame so that is out of the question.
Any ideas???
We had a door that would drift closed and I just took each hinge pin out and bent it very slightly. When reinstalled there is just enough friction to keep the door still.

A punchout man's favorite trick, along with bending hinges to align doors.
You could have also just cut a mousetrap down, mounted it sideways on the casing near the door hinge, and used the spring action of the trap against a metal slide/striker plate on the door.
I haven't heard of them called that way before either, but it refers to the guy that's going through and completing the punch list.
Oh, well that makes perfect sense. Guess I'm having a blonde day
