Ok I'm tired of sucking water from the carpet and have pulled it out. Question is can I paint over the floor as is or should I scrape whats left of the carpet glue off?
Thanks

Every paint / coating maker on the planet will tell you: prep work makes all the difference.

If you do not remove the old adhesive you might as well not bother painting because it just won't stick.

There is a tool you can rent at a rental store that will scrape off the adhesive. If you can't get it off, you are going to just have a mess. If nothing else, maybe have someone come in and skim coat the cement for a smoother finish? Good luck with the water, southern MN is a MESS right now.
