I realize this thread is old but we recently had a similar experience, in which the water line from the refrigerator burst and we had water damage to the wall and the hardwood floor in the living area which which is in the other side of the wall where the refrigerator stands. Even after cleaning up as much of the water as possible, the floors still had a had a "squishy" feel to them, so I called our HO insurance and they sent an extraction company that same day to set up suction mats, a dehumidifier and industrial sized fans that were left at our house for about four days. Even after all that, the floors in the area affected seem to be uneven with the surrounding planks....it looks like we are going to need to have the entire living room area redone, but luckily this will be paid for by the HO insurance, after we paid our deductible and also paid a plumber and an appliance repair person. It was definitely not a fun experience and for some reason things like this always seen to happen when my husband is out of town!
