High-tech washing machines which contact users by EMAIL when the cycle is complete have been installed at a string of British universities.

Makers believe the digital launderettes will mean students no longer lug their dirty laundry to the washing block only to find all the machines in use.

While I don't think they get an actual email, my son's school has an online system where you can check to see if the machines are free and if you are the one using them, when they are done. It's pretty cool.

My niece's school has the email system. Washers AND dryers.

Pretty cool. I've seen the online systems implemented in a few apartment complexes where I live. Wish I had it in my building.
