You will have to scare the living stuff out of him to get him to leave and be sure to know how he/she is getting in so you can patch it up. I would try a speaker cranked up to 10 with FOXY LADY by Jimi or any heavy metals like Van Halen..if you can see it, you can also poke him with a long stick to move it along...

The OP needs to find out where the squirrel gained entry and place a trap there as well so that when the squirrel tries to leave it is captured. At least that way you KNOW it is out of the house rather than guessing before the hole is sealed.
