what are some of the best granites to go with a tumble marble backspash.
And who prefers the marble backspash to be on a diagonal or regualr square pattern?
thanks

I have found that matching the backsplash tile to the lightest color in the granite works well. Also found that diagonal layouts for the backsplash are preferable as square patterns often highlight inconstancies and any uneven components in the room.

Tumbled marble is really pretty, but it can be a bit of a pain to clean if you actually cook in your kitchen. Depending on the type the texture can be a grease trap, which traps dirt. There are some that are less textured but most have heave texture. Just something to think about.
Depending on the color of granite, glass tiles can look nice and are non porous. Marble even polished it porous. Then again if you get you're colors wrong it can look nasty too.

If you seal it you shouldn't have a problem, even with a porous marble. Some installers won't seal it for insurance reasons so it may not have been done with yours.

I used a light colored travertine placed on point with every three tiles being a bronze/brass insert. And the granite was called Paradiso Bash, it had lots of movement as well as lots of earthtones which went really well with the travertine. Unfortunately I sold the house this was in and now have ceramic tile backsplash with formica, yuck. I plan to redo the same thing as before in this house.

You can esteem the helpful information to ceramic tile here. I would put on a diagonal, it seems to me so more beautifully.
