Im trying to figure out whats more beneficial. I have floor registers everywhere in my house. The main areas are my living room and sitting room. My living room has a sloped roof which goes from 10ft to 15ft. There is a second floor landing that is small which leads to 3 bedrooms.

The Ceiling fan hangs down about 3 feet in the living room.

I've attached some pictures:

Livingroom:

Sitting Room:

Right now I have the fans turning clockwise. The floor registers are around the perimeter of the room. Some people say have teh fans blow down to keep the air from rising. Some say pull the air up to keep the ceiling from trapping the hot air.

I have cathedral ceilings similar to yours. In the main areas I don't turn on the fan unless we have a house of guests. I use counter-clockwise to cool down the room do the rise of temperature caused by numerous guests. This way the thermostat does not need to be played with (during TG it was set to 70 with a house full of people w/o an issue).

Each room in the house has its own fan so each person can set the fan in the direction they need w/o touching the thermostat.

I use my ceiling fans as stated in the link-

I used the premise of "wind chill" in the summer; or direct skin contact with the moving air.
And "push" (in the winter) the trapped warm air at the ceiling to the walls and down to the floor- avoiding direct skin contact or "wind chill".

noticed a big difference running the fan on high and turning clockwise. It avoided the windchill effect and spread the warm air everywhere

That ceiling fan needs to be dropped several feet if you expect to get any benefit from it. From the picture, it looks like it is mounted way to high, it serves no purpose except to look at. The blades should be between 7 and 8 feet from the floor is you want it to serve any purpose...
Go to HD and buy a down rod long enough to get it at the proper height. It was probably installed by the builder, who has no interest in wether or not it works.. It's doing nothing where it is...!

Agreed, OP, you really need a much longer down rod for that fan to function properly in moving your air. I have a 4ft down rod in room with a much lower vaulted ceiling than yours. I've never had to turn the fan on high, usually on low and on a rare occasion medium for a short time just to circulate the heat from my fireplace.

Looking at the photo provided your fan should hang down at least to the base or slightly below the base of that half-round window, IMO.
