I had my brother put 5 or 6 of
these on my raingutter that is over my deck. One edge was wedged under my deck shingles, other snapped on my rain gutter's outer edge. Water would run over the outer edge of the rain gutter when it rained causing a mess. He though perhaps he installed them upside down so he reinstalled them and the same problem occured once it rained again. This product worked well to keep leaves and small twigs out, but failed to allow rain in. I went out in a downpour to remove them to avoid the water pooling up by my a/c unit. I'd much rather deal with cleaning them out more frequently than those leaf guards causing them to overflow.
I too have problems with the rain gutters downspouts overflowing up on the roof. I'll look into getting wider rain gutters installed. Thanks for the info.
