I just purchased a townhouse and was wondering if I can get a tax break from new energy saving windows that were put into the house when I bought it. I didn't put the windows in after the purchase, but was put in my the real estate company that was selling the property. If I can, what do I need given that I do not have the receipts for them since they were installed by the remodeling company.
......or, take a gamble..! write them off on your taxes.. With the millions of people claiming tax credits for windows, not likely they will be auditing you..
Do you feel lucky....?
