I agree. Splicing the wire should be easy. You can watch a youtube video on it if you want first. You can use your hair dryer to shrink the heat sensitive tubing if you decide to use it.

Maybe you should call someone who does sprinkler systems for a living(?)

I'd rather talk about the car- US spec, or Euro spec?
