I'm thinking that I'm going to need to build a privacy fence for the back part of my yard. I have privacy fence along the sides of my yard and a wire fence on the back part. I own all of it. But now I think I need to replace the wire part. I'd like to do matching privacy fence, but I figured it out and diy it would be $400. Does anyone have any ideas of someway I can do it cheaper? Find cheaper materials anywhere? Thanks.

Buy wooden pallets and recycle the wood.

Plant vines every 3 feet, all the way down the length of the fence. They'll grow in quickly and look really pretty!

How big are the pallets? And where do you get them? How much are they? They do look nice. Although I'm guessing not as private as privacy panels.

Get a bunch of old garage doors and fasten them to the existing wire fence posts.

I completely got that you were joking, but I really don't mind the look of it! It's better than wire

Usually they come 4' wide (you break them apart to get 4' long 1"x4"s). But the best thing they are free. Go to the back of any big box retailer and as long as you have a way of carting them off they'll be glad to be rid of them (they pay haulers to take them away). The side panels are usually 2"x4"s. So you can screw four of them together to make 8' 4"x4"s. So your total money spent is a box of screws and the time building it.
