I recently purchased a very rarely used 7 year old Frigidaire Dryer that was used about one month a year by a winter visitor. In the first month that I've owned it, the "start" button that you turn clockwise to start the dryer broke. I've read that this is a common problem and that in order to not have the knob crack again, you have you glue the plastic hole with an epoxy material and vise, which I don't have. How often do these knobs break because I'm wondering how many replacement buttons I should order to take advantage of bulk shipping discounts.
If you are going to use the dryer frequently, then order 2. Frequent use and "normal" house temperatures will keep it from getting brittle and breaking. After 7 years with little use, the platic probably was brittle and easily cracked. In case I am wrong, order 2...one to use and have a backup if it breaks. Then you will have time to order a new one.
While you're at it, order a drum belt too. That is the most likely part to wear out and break over time.
