moving 66" x 30" x 30" desk into a 29" door

When we moved into our house, the seller agent told me at closing that the owners left me a desk in the basement office. She said it all perky like they left me a gift. I knew what desk it was, it was massive. I told her, "you mean they couldn't get it out the door and decided to leave it." She gave my coy smile. I ended up using the desk but I don't like it. Its a cheap desk made by Sauder and to take it apart would ruin it, so when I get around to getting a new one, this Sauder desk will need to be taken apart with a sledgehammer.

If its the typical Saunder it can easily be taken aprt. Just remmber to draw now it goes back together if you waqnt to and it would make taking it apart easier.

The sketch above assumes a 37" hallway. If that's what you have then the sketch looks correct, if not then the solution is still unknown.

Right with the window. We had to do that more than once with this stubborn desk we had. Options would be A. Stand it on end and try to swing the legs around through the jam. B. disassemble and reassemble the legs, IF possible C. cut the legs and reattach cleverly D. disassemble and reassemble the window and bring in that way E. Place the desk in a location accessible to a larger door F. just break down and put in a wider door. You will find that there will be other inconveniences associated with these older 30 inch doorways and having a wider door is really convenient.
