After my Sears fiasco, I started researching refrigerators on the internet. It seems like every brand has a lot of oomplaints. Even worse, my choice is limited since I am going to buy a freezerless refrigerator. I need the space to store vegetables until I they can be freezed, dried or canned.

Has anyone had a good experience?

you'll always find someone who'll complain about just about anything. IME, I've never had a problem with any refrigerator I've owned (kenmore, GE, frigidaire). It seems that most of the problems start when things become complicated: ice makers, electronic controls, touchpads, etc.

I agree with Not a pricess. I just had to replace a GE Profile 4 year old refrigerator. It stopped cooling and I called my service man. ( I have rentals and use this service man all the time for my appliances. I trust him highly. FYI) Anyway...he thought it was a relay, came in replaced the relay and nothing. He looked further and found that the motherboard(computer) failed becasue fo a possible electric surge and that burned the fan motor.
He told me to go buy a Whirlpool plain jane with NO bells and whistles. The new refrigerators with all the lights, guages and read outs are the things that fail. I did what he said. All it has to do is cool the food and keep it cool. From now on when I have to buy an appliance it will be plain jane all the way.
For your purposes, a plain jane refrigerator will do the trick and be reliable.

"Are there any good refrigerators?"

No, they are all made of cheap plastic that cracks and breaks, ideally after the warranty expires.

I am very happy with my Whirlpool, and it does have quite a few features. I have a friend who has a much more expensive Bosch, and she has had several repairs done already, within 3 years of purchasing it.

Default Specialized stuff might be worth the up charge for OP...

If you have a need for a "fridge only" unit I would look to Northland for a residential unit or probably shop the resturant supply houses for a traulsen or true. The ability to rapidly cool and maintain produce is something that the specialized stuff is superb for...

If I were you, I would go to the clearance aisle at Lowe's or Home Depot and find a display model or a fridge with a small dent on the side, and see if you can get a killer deal. I got a $1600.00 Samsung fridge for $800.00 because it had a small dent the size of a quarter about 6" from the bottom where someone bumped the box with a forklift. I'm more concerned about what I'm getting for my money than a brand name. This fridge came with all the bells and whistles and was 50% off. As long as I've heard of the brand, it's probably ok.

Default Thanks.

Northland refrigerators are beautiful, but out of my price range and not sold in my area. It looks like a choice between Frigidaire, Summit and Electrolux.

(Sigh)

19.4 cu. ft. Stainless Door Reach-in Refrigerator, Each

I think this will be my next refrigeration purchase... If you don't mind a fridge on casters I think this is a good buy and will beat the pants off of Electrolux home retail.

I love the clearance aisle at Lowes: Last month I bought a range that was 50% off because someone bought it and brought it back because the found one they liked better. So I paid for it and scheduled delivery, but Lowes didn't pull if off the floor right away and some one else bought it and took it with them.

So Lowes offered to give me a brand new one for the price I paid for the returned range. However, they didn't have that model in stock so they gave me a new one that was top of the line, all the bells and whistles.
