Yeah, 8 service visits in 3 years on my new heat pump unit.
I Paid to have them replace our unit with a new one.

Paid for the R&R

They had to come out 4 times the first week, then another 4 times in the next two years. They kept saying there is a problem with the TXV on the unit.

Keep in mind, each time they came out except for the first week, they billed me. So I am no up to around 6 grand on a 2 1/2 Ton AC unit. I just cant go on like this.

Yes, it is under warranty but they charge me insaine labor each visit.

Any suggestions on where I should go?

I can't help you. But I am hoping you can help me. What brand is your unit so I don't buy it when I replace my unit.

We had a similar problem years ago. It turned out to be a voltage problem, so the power company had to put a transformer closer to our house.

If it's under warranty, then why are you paying for labor for a defective unit. Our new unit came with a 10 year parts and labor warranty.

Wow!. That can be an expensive setback. Have you thought about contacting the manufacturer directly explaining your problem. They may have a known problem that has not been relayed to the dealer. They also may help you with free repairs since they don't want bad publicity and should realize with that many problems with a new unit there must definitely be something wrong.

You could also go to a TV station that has those consumer helper services and let them take up your case. It's free to you and good publicity for those involved, usually.

Tried the manufacturer and distributor rep no help.

AND Had to have another visit, this time I was billed $300 for another "Under Warranty" item that needed replacing, they are even charging me for their propane to solder the fittings, this is rediculous.

When I called to question the bill since it was 30% more than was quoted verbally he said he was giving me a deal and got all upset that I was questioning it. Said he didn't charge me for the estimate, gee thanks

I don't think the problem is the equipment.

Whatever happened subsequent....
the problem right from the get go seems about the install quality.
