EDIT: My living room is brown with white trim & I love it !

me and my husband just seen a living room like that from a link someone referred me to on here.
and we fell in love with it. (brown with white trim) your home must look DIVINE.
now we have the following issues.
our rooms continuously flow: living room, dining room, kitchen.
you can see all the rooms from the doorway.
so we wanted to transition a different color into the kitchen.
its currently yellow, and i dont think the beige and browns would compliment the kitchen if it's yellow.
also, our living room/dining room have wall panelings.
but the rest of our house does not.
so we wanted to make our living/dining room walls like the other walls.
we also have a floor design and were thinking of getting cellular shades to match the orange accent. what do you think?

Thank you for the compliment! There's no better feeling than coming home to a place you love and it's a lot of fun too. It's great you are doing it together.

I have the same issue with 'flow' in my house; we have a lot of rooms but they are open with big doorways & no doors, it's a really old house.

I kept all the trim the same throughout the whole house. The walls are bold colors but they are all the same 'strength' - forest green, burgundy, navy, & brown. I used the glossiest paint available to throw light around; I also like how it emphasizes the texture of my plaster walls. However, a lot of people do NOT like gloss paint indoors - that seemed to be more upsetting to my painter than the colors, LOL.

Since I was working with a painter when I did the initial decorating, I picked all my colors in advance and ended up changing several of them because I didn't like them (including the pale color in the hallway which I picked because I erroneously believed the 'you can't have dark colors everywhere or in a hallway'). It would have been better to do one room, live with it, then do other rooms. Especially since I was doing strong colors and still trying to find my style. Fortunately, I like painting

We'll be looking for more before and after pics !
