I want to create a turn in the bottom 2-3 steps of my staircase, just to make the house look better. Does anyone know whether this would be possible? If so, what is a reasonable cost?

That depends on how do you define "reasonable" .

Throw a number out and we'll tell you if you're high or low.

Well, if it's possible to simply create a 90 degree turn at the bottom of an existing staircase... I was hoping between $3000-$5000? Is there a good way to determine? For the materials + labor charge? Would it cost much more than this?

Also, would they be simply removing the last few steps and replacing with the winder treads/etc necessary?

But I'm sure glad to hear that it's possible to just replace the last few.

Thanks for the input.

There is no way to answer this online.

But one thing is certain...
the word simply won't be getting used by the carpenter.
