In Fl we have one small leak on one aluminum (?) lanai roof.
From the location, it is probably around a screw at the mid-rib, which is 5' from the edge.
My arms aren't that long and this thing sure doesn't look sturdy enough to step on even with a board across.
My imagination has given out as to how to reach it.
Suggestions?
I used to have a sunroom like that on a previous residence. I could get on the roof by using an extension ladder laying across the ribs. Basically, just spreading the "load" over a larger area.
If you did it and it took your weight I guess I'll trust it but those hollow alum. supports sure do look flimsy.
Shane, I'm more concerned about a broken roof than arm or leg.
Ooooopppps.....ours has a sloped roof. I can just visualize our alum ext ladder sliding right off.
Any other suggestions?
Shane's is looking better right now.

They all have a slope- Mine was no more than a 2/12. Laying on the ladder was no problem- it didn't go anywhere. If yours has something like a 5/12 then the same principle would apply, but it executed differently.
My painters would have "hooks" that would go over the ridge of the roof a hold it in place- it would lay on the roof and they would crawl up the ladder.
Now, ii I'm not around for awhile.......................................
