The shower door to my stall shower leaks water bad. Because of the poor design of the shower (remodel coming in a few years, looking for a solution until then), the shower head is aimed right at the shower door.

Now here's the problem, water runs down the side of the rail where the door meets the wall, then gushes down the side and splashes over the little guard at the bottom because there is so much water running down, getting water all over the floor.

Maybe a video will help me describe the problem better...

How do I fix this? Any help is appreciated. Note, there is a rubber splash guard type thing along the bottom of the door that extends all the way to the edge of the door, but the water bypasses this completely by running along the edge of the rail.

If you are looking for something very cheap and ugly that willl only be a short lived fix I suppose you could get a tube of clear silicone caulk and "beef up" the seal.

Honestly I would only do that if I had a remodel scheduled for like 60 days out or less.

Go to the local discount homecenter and spend $90 on a new shower enclosure -- any "savings" you get by waiting and risking water damage will be a mistake...

It looks like a hinged door. That is it swings open. If that is correct, get a rubber strip that is used to go around a bath tub and glue it to the door itself with an overhang to cover the seam. The water will not get into the channel to drain out the bottom. That's all I can think of at the moment. Put the strip on the bottom first and then along the side with the bottom overlapping the bottom corner.
I hope that may help. If your going to remodel in a few years, you will know what NOT kind of door to use on the shower.

Not a perfect solution but there are these corner guard things you can buy to put on a bathtub. They are triangluar and one side sticks to the tub and one to the wall. It would be a stop gap measure until you can remodel.

Another solution would be to take the door off and use a shower curtain that is long enough to touch the floor of the shower. I would get cheep shower curtains because they will mold doing that-or plan on washing them in the washer with bleach and some white towels often.

These are all excellent suggestions. I will explore possible solutions.

I think the easiest and simplest solution is golfgal's suggestions to put up a shower curtain. I never would have though of that, thank you so much. Such an easy fix to a problem that had me stumped for the better part of a week, lol.

If the shower curtain doesn't fix the problem then I will look into the other solutions. I LOVE this forum, thank you so much guys!

Yep, it is a hinged door. I think if the shower curtain idea does not work out this will be next on my list.

It doesn't have to be pretty, at this point I just want the shower to be usable! Thanks so much for the suggestion.
