The house I moved into recently has propane which I have never had before. The tank is at 27% full now and I need to get it filled for the first time. How low do you let it get before filling again?
250 gal? It varies depending on how it is delivered. Some places only do scheduled routes. Somewhere between that and 10%. Try not to go much below that. Tanks generally only get filled around 80%, especially in hot weather.

We don't let ours get below 20%.
You're kind of cutting it close if you do, because unless you live in a city bad winter weather might prevent them from getting to you when you are running out.
Good question? Mine just gets filled on their schedule and routing so i really never know how low it is. They come on one schedule during the mid year and sooner duringt he colder months. Based ont he invoices, i would dsay its about 35 -40% but my tank is large. They do have a new device that attaches to the tank that remotely lets them know ehen you get below a certain level. Havn't decided so if anyone does have that, pros & cons?
If you live in a harsh winter environment, equate it to how low you would let your car gas tank get. Is it your main part of heat/cooking? I'd never let it get below 50%. I had 5 days of no power not that long ago but I threw the frozens in the snow and cooked for a crowd for days . People dropped off their kids for me to care for. Thank you Mr Propane.
20%. That was in Southern Arizona at about 4300 feet.
