Looking to install some sliding glass shower doors.
From my google searching, it seems pretty straight forward.
A quick search on DIY, I found this and *seems* pretty easy.

Never done this before so I take it I first measure how much track I will need and then cut at home.

Since I'm drilling into ceramic tile, I need a special bit, right?

The tracks should be glued to the top of the tub if that is where they sit. If they are sitting on a shower base tub they are fiberglass typically. If they are going onto a tiled shower floor surround, good luck. You could still glue them because the mounting screws may or may not find a good anchor through the tile.

Installing a sliding shower door can be pretty straightforward. Hopefully the pitch of the tub / surround is such that water will not collect at the edges. You also need to be sure the tile and grout are currently in good shape -- any signs of leaks / mold and the door will just make things MUCH worse. You also need to get in the habit of leaving those new doors OPEN and the bath fan ON until 100% of the moisture is exhausted...

You will probably need "tile & glass" bits. I prefer the ones that have a nice big carbide head and a reduced shaft as there is less chance of grinding the hole out of round -- it ought to just fit the inserts to accept screws securely: Bosch GT2000 Glass and Tile Set 4-Piece

Yeah, they'll be going on a shower pan... fiberglass? And the walls are ceramic. So the base of the track where the glass rests on will be glued to the shower pan and all other track will be screwed in.

New shower/bathroom so I'm guessing everything is good.

Um... me?

After I'm done I'm going to gift the bit to my wife who says I never buy her anything nice.

Here's a diamond for ya...
