Glidden Duo (now called Diamond) is an excellent value paint.

My friend's husband is a painting contractor and he says Ben Moore, so that's what I've gotten when I could pick myself. In my last place, I did some patching and touch up painting and after 7 years (paint stored inside the house in the hall closet, so climate controlled) you could not see it at all. I knew exactly where to look and I couldn't see it.

For my current house, I have Sherwin Williams since that's what the builder used. It's ok, but doesn't seem to have as much color saturation as BM. But I was limited to a small choice of colors and perhaps something I picked myself would give me a little more oomph. We moved in less than 2 years ago and the entire house (open floor plan) has the same color, so I don't see painting again anytime soon, though.

SW has a premium mix that costs more than BM. It is almost as good.
