I have a layer of semi-solid stain freshly put down, I like the color and it lets some of the grain show, but I noticed after a rain I much prefer the "wet" look it had from the water on it.
The stain included a sealer, but is there anything I can put down on top of the now dried stain to give it that look? I dont want something that will prematurely peel and or crack though. Thanks!
oooooo thats purty, the stain should protect from UV rays. The wood is mildly weathered so I'm not too concerned about slipperiness, but Id do a test area first as usual anyway to be safe.

You can put any number of gloss paints/varnishes on it. The problem will be adhesion - and that's going to be a tough problem to overcome. In my opinion, you'd be better off not doing it.
Z-Spar Flagship varnish/Pettit.... best stuff I ever used.... used on boats. I used it on Adirondack chairs and pergolas, and it lasts forever. None of this varnish is cheap.... like over $90/gallon. I used to get my stuff from Jamestown Distributors in RI, mail-order. If you have a concern about it being slippery (which it really isn't), then there is very fine sand you can add to the varnish (that you can't even see), that will give you more of a sense of comfort against slipping. Similar to the sand used to mix into two-part epoxy paints used to paint garage floors. It is high gloss (matte or semi-gloss finishes have flatteners in them, which reduces their durability).
