I don't have a huge space. The flat mops flip, so you have the use of both sides. My mop came with an extra pad. Also, the flat area on the mop is about 5 1/2" deep and 18 - 20" wide. It's pretty big. Covers a lot of floor. And the pads rinse out very easily or you can toss them in the washer.

Pergo is plastic so most any cleaning product will work. The Bruce cleaning kit is handy in that it has everything in it, ready to go.

That is true, but are they all animal safe, that is the big question on most peoples minds with pets.

I worked for a major cleaning company in college, and they always hammered it into you not to overuse soap, to use the proper amount. Its costly to overuse it, it doesn't make it cleaner, and much more work to clear away the excess. Its hard to figure out the right amount with vinegar, since there is no directions for use as a cleaner. Try using lessor amounts.

Thanks! Good suggestion. Hadn't thought about using less vinegar and more water; will experiment.

I'll suggest the best tool to use is a prybar.
Pull them up and replace them.

There is a product at some Walmart stores called Zep. It is a commercial laminate floor cleaner. These types of floors can be cleaned the same way you would clean plexiglass. There are some green cleaners that contain Propylene glycol monomethyl ether. Propylene glycol is an approved food additive for some animals. Sometimes the water you are using can have mineral deposits that will leave streaks or the cleaning cloth could have residue from laundry soap in it.

I use a brand of products from a company called Norwex. They market a dry and wet mop system utilizing microfiber that is infused with silver (anti-bacterial). Therefore only water is used therefore no danger to pets, kids, etc. The combination of the dry and wet mop work fantastic, especially on pergo, laminate, and wood floors.
