We have a Jenn Air built-in microwave/oven combination. It came with the house. Why anyone would combine these two appliances confounds me. The microwave has pitted areas and some rust on the interior. I want to replace it, but all I see is parts for this particular model. JMC8100ADB.

Does anyone know of a way to find a replacement that would adapt to the current setup without replacing the entire oven as well? It's not in bad shape at all.

Thanks!

Oven/micro combo's are intergal components. The cost to replace individual part(s) would far exceed the cost of replacing.
The better "choice" is a separate wall oven and micro- however, it will probably entail some cabinet modifications and a slight electrical modification.

The manual I found online says that is NOT a "built in only" type microwave. It needed a "build-in kit" to be installed in a cabinet -- JXA 1027 for 27" opening or JXA1030 for 30".

Odds are you remove the kit and access the microwave just like any other countertop unit.

No big deal.

Yep, as chet stated(according to the model number you gave) it is a countertop type micro with a trim kit. Remove trim face plate, then there are usually a few screws that hold the micro in place. Remove those and the micro should slide right out.

That's great! My husband had it apart at one point. For some reason I thought it just looked like 'guts' in there.

Thanks so much!!!!
