Anything but smelly, dirty, carpet.

I prefer carpet. Tile, laminate or hardwood are too hard. I like sit or lie down on the floor and play with my dog. Putting an area rug on top of hard flooring is not enough padding for comfort. Further, I hate wearing anything on my feet. Carpet is a must for Utah winters so my feet aren't always cold. I have laminate in my kitchen and vinyl in my bathroom. The laminate is very cold in the winter.

I bet their is a difference of opinion if you ask the person in the household who primarily cleans the flooring vs all those who live there.

. Where I live - solid floors like tile are gritty a day after you clean them. Robyn
