What are the best solutions for getting rid of fleas in your garage or yard? I have a concrete floor garage that is mostly empty, and I think they are getting in from outside. I want to know if anyone has any experience with either sprays that are environmentally safe but work, or if you have to go with a harsh spray. I just don't want them getting in the house.
We use granules like spectracide twice a year. No winter here. Borax might work in the garage. I prefer to get a carpet and upholstery spray by zodiac or Adams. They not only kill but sterilize anything that hatches for months after that, breaking the cycle.
I'm wondering about my cinder blocks in my garage, after having fleas in my garage where the cinder blocks were stored, and after treating the garage. Will it be ok to use those cinder blocks in my back yard, or will fleas pop out come summer from the porous material they are made of, and then infest my yard?
You can take salt and sprinkle it all over, leave 24 hours and sweep up. If you do this treatment on carpet, don't leave over 12-24 hours in humidity or will make carpet wet. Do the treatment a couple times. Works like a charm and you don't have to worry about chemicals. I like the salt best as you don't have to worry about dust or chemicals. I have used borax as well. ( You find it in the laundry section Mule brand) You can also get diatomaceous earth( not pool grade, only use FOOD Grade). Sprinkle in yard, then on concrete and sweep up.
So are you talking about regular salt that is fine, or sea salt which is large grain?
