I have an American Standard kitchen sink that came with a removable hard rubber protector between the basins. This bottom part of this piece has accumulated a lot of mold and mildew over the years, and we would like to replace it. I took it to a plumbing store; they said they cannot order one. I also cannot find it online, perhaps because I don't know what this thing is called. I have Googleled "rubber sink protector" and similar terms, but to no avail. I have also searched for the model number for the sink, with no success.

The sink is a cast iron American Standard, model number on the bottom states it's an Americast 7145 5. It's well more than 10 years old, and probably discontinued.

Here is a link to a picture of this piece. It's about 17" long.

If an OEM of the product is not available, does anyone know of a generic piece that would serve the same purpose?

I know Rubbermaid used to make similar things. Don't know what the real term is for it, or if they still make them. Sold in stores near the dish drainers.
