Our Culligan that the sellers left us needs to be replaced. We are considering an Ecowater system from Costco. I've been doing research, and discovered that options are
- cheap unit from big box stores like HD/Lowes. Ruled that out.
- Independent plumber installing a unit with a Fleck valve. Estimated cost $1500 or so.
- Bigger companies like Culligan, Kinetico, EcoWater. Ecowater claims they've been around so long, Costco picky about which companies they deal with, their product also removing chlorine, their lifetime warranty. At $5000, I'm not ready to part with that kind of money so fast.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has had great experience with Ecowater, and also those that will tell me I should run as far as I can from this company.
Ecowater seems to use a rotor disc system just like the big box units. Except the seals aren't as easy to get when they inevitably fail. I'd go for the Fleck. If you want the chlorine removal I'm sure a plumber could install that and it'd still be less than $5000.
Thank you, nybbler, I think the Fleck makes more sense, the more I do research.
