Could be and it would be easy to see from the bottom. Otherwise 90% of the sinks installed here by granite fabricators are supported by epoxy with no other physical support such as those. This is why I had the opinion that it was not silicone, that wouldnt be strong enough. The only time Ive seem wood or other type supports is with very heavy sinks, travertine, porcelain farm sinks, or cast iron.

I has a situation like that when I bought some Lowes display items.I got them apart by soaking in diesel fuel,disolved silicone.
