I am planning to go with Whirlpool cabrio washer dryer. Is it a good choice to go with? How frequently it needs repairs?
Do you guys have any other suggestions?
The best source (in my opinion) is consumer reports. For $5 you get access to their website for a month and all their reviews including reliability. I use it when I'm going to make a large purchase and it's money well spent. Just remember to cancel after you get all the info you want. You can print from their site.
Your best source is ALWAYS the consumer himself. Check reviews for Whirlpool & their affiliate brands such as Maytag, Kitchen-Aid, Amana & Kenmore on consumeraffairs.com, Amazon, Facebook, pissedconsumer, & the Better Business Bureau. From what I've read the Cabrio HE (high efficiency) washer & dryer have more complaints than any other model. Whirlpool, LG, GE, Kenmore (machines are made by WP & LG) have complaints by the 1000's!!!!!!!! The only brand that customers highly favor are made by Speed Queen which are not sold in the big box stores but by independent dealers which can be found on speedqueen.com. Never trust the opinions from Consumer Reports or websites such as that, too many people have been screwed taking their advice & you never know if a mfg has paid them for recommendations, but the actual consumer will tell you the real deal.
