You think there's a cat stuck in the hose? That would muck up the works a bit ...

But yes, pet fur can be a problem ...

If you buy 130 V bulbs, they last forever (almost). They cost no more than 120V. I get them at light bulb specialty places.

130V bulbs last much longer than most appliances these days, lol.

There could be a clog where hoses attach to the vacuum or a clog in the middle of the hose!

Also, if the wheels/rollers underneath stop moving you won't have suction. Check underneath if hair or string has gotten tangled where the wheels turn. Good luck.

I agree! I have a cleaning business and use my Shark every day. It's 2 years old now and still going strong. Best vacuum I've ever owned!

My old Eureka's motor burned out so we bought the Eureka bagless for pet hair which has resulted in a big disappointment. It sucks very well but it is cheaply made that the tools constantly fall off the machine and after three uses the on/off switch is flopping around to the point that I doubt it will last much longer. Very disappointing for the price we paid, very, but does suck well.

I do miss America.

Bought a Shark Lift-Away (purple one) and I love it. No dust comes back out when you vac. It has a 7 yr warranty and most blogs I read said they are good to deal with... I called the C.S. once and someone in the US actually picks up to talk to you. Also, you can remove most of the hoses and tubes in case what you're describing happens so it's easy to fix clogs.

The bad features that annoy me about the Liftaway is that when you need to use the brush tools, the wand is not ergonomically right... It has some sort of weird angle that makes me feel like I have to fight with it just to vac over a table or cabinet. Also the canister is kind of small.... I can empty things out every 2-3 months but for people with pets, that could become 2-3 weeks. I still dump out the junk outside. There is no such design that allows you to do a dump inside your house and still keep the house clean.

There is a new (white) model that comes with an extra long brush tool for bare floor (like the ones typically used for canister vacs).... I suggest that model if anyone wants a Shark. Mine is great, but it can't be pushed all the way in to get under furniture.
