I like the new hardware you added to the cabinets and drawers and I think painting the white area under the island made it all mesh together nicely. The color in one of the photos makes the backsplash look very green so that is throwing people off. In the other photos the backsplash looks gorgeous. I like the kitchen and think it is very functional.

You did a beautiful job, the kitchen looks great. My only concern is I hope you bought a extended warranty for that Whirlpool refrigerator since they no longer build quality appliances even though they look good & cost plenty "all that glitters is not gold", there are 1000's of complaints & lawsuits on line. I also question why people don't have the foresight to realize it's a bad, bad decision to put hardwood floors in kitchens, while it looks beautiful it's not practical. If your refrigerator or dishwasher leaks/floods your floors are ruined. I've read many a nightmare story where this has happened & holding the manufacture of the faulty appliance liable is a major challenge. Kitchens get a lot of foot traffic, hardwood floors in the kitchen is high maintenance, from scratches, spills, & scuffing. Ceramic tile would've been a much better option but it's a done deal so enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Thanks! I did get a 5 yr extended warranty on the fridge, although I have not heard about the quality issues. A friend has a slightly older version of the same model and has been very happy with his. I did read online reviews of various fridges extensively. Seems like every brand has had people with severe issues and it just comes down to luck. Hopefully I won't run into any issues! I would have also preferred tile in the kitchen, but I did not get to spec the house (in which case I would have specced the entry to be tile instead of hardwood as well). Call me paranoid, but I installed 11 water sensors at various possible leak locations throughout the house that will notify me on my smartphone the instant it detects water. So hopefully that will help me catch leaks early and prevent any water damage.

How rude and without purpose, except merely to be mean. If someone's going to be unkind, she should at least have something positive to contribute -- and the "if you like it, cool" doesnt qualify.
