Roaches like hot spots and moisture. The coils and compressor in a refrigerator supply heat and the condensation pan the moisture. Having a bait trap nearby is a good idea.

OP, I really sympathize ... I haven't seen a roach since the late '80s when I lived in Berkeley ... we didn't have any 'til we got new neighbors and suddenly our apartment was totally infested. I think they may have brought them in on their furniture. We finally got rid of them by using boric acid throughout the kitchen cabinets & counters -- we didn't have any pets to worry about.

I lived for a few more years in Berkeley, then 9 years in Michigan and now 12 years in New Hampshire and have never seen one since. Maybe they don't like the cold? I am grateful!!

My friend lives in a duplex... the lady next door had her unit treated, and the roaches all came into my friend's place.
Now I knew someone who had worked overseas for years.
Her way was to reserve a shelf in the fridge for "garbage" (not trash), until pickup day.
She would wrap vegetable and fruit peels, bones, etc., tightly in plastic, and wait to put them out with the trash on pickup day.
Incidentally, I use diatomaceous earth to keep ants away.
Not so effective outdoors, as it must stay dry.

This is just unbelievable. I was in my bathroom and got on my scale, and there is a damn roach crawling around inside it! Weird that they would be attracted to it since the led lights are only on if I weigh myself.

I guess I should just toss the whole thing in the trash. Thank goodness that they haven't infested my computer yet. I got it brand new as a Christmas gift. I thought for sure keeping my place completely dry and spotless along with the weekly boric acid spraying would put an end to this infestation. If my place is clean, and my neighbors are trashy, why the hell do they keep coming to my place? lol
