I currently have two 23 yo 9 seer units I am replacing and received the following estimate. Is this reasonable? I have no clue! Any help appreciated.

The installation of (2) 100,000 BTU, 80% efficient gas furnaces and (2) 4 ton, 13 SEER air conditioners on existing duct systems. Gas piping, electrical wiring, digital programmable thermostats and 5” media filters included.

Equipment: Trane Models: (2)TUE1C100A948, (2)4TTR3048, (2)4TXCC049, (2)TCONT600 and ( 2) 5’ media filters
Warranty:
10 years on parts from Trane
20 years on heat exchangers from Trane

$14,000.00

**Payment due upon completion.

All material is guaranteed to be as specified. All work to be completed in a workmanlike manner according to standard practices. Any alteration or deviation from above specifications involving extra costs will be executed only upon written orders, and will become an extra charge over and above the estimate. I would get another two bids with EXACTLY the same equipment if you wanna shop around. That sounds about right. My neighbor replaced her single AC and heater and that was 10k.

$7000 per set is about par.

How big is the house that requires TWO 100,000 btu furnaces?

Pretty good price, but the seer is also very low. Just got quoted for 1 trane, 17.5 seer, 3 ton, $10,000

Price sounds amazing to me
New heater and air combo for me (going in next week)
Single furnace and single air. Also included an insulation component (required for state rebate)

Many quotes ranging from 14,000 - 22,000
Again.. thats for single gas/hvac units
Take out about 2,000 for the insulation component

We get $5000 off from state rebate, so to me I ended up under 10k, but the full cost really is 14,500. But factoring all that your general price sounds great (althogh I know nothing about your equipment)

Well, that would be a very low quote up here in New England.

I'm wondering if there are any rebates which could offset the increased cost of getting more energy efficient systems?

Though......depending where you are.. you may not use the heat that often......but I'd look at higher seer for the a/c.
