The wood fascia of my chimney has started to rot near the top. This chimney covering is the only external wood surface on my house but protrudes about 12 feet above the top of my roofline.

I would like the wood fascia totally removed from the chimney and replaced with hardieplank.

Who makes repairs of this nature on a chimney? A roofer?

Hardieplank is a fiber cement material. Carpenters install that?

Siding repair. OK, that makes sense. A siding repair company should have the special tools and equipment to do this job correctly and safely.

Thanks!
