Hello all,
Getting our house ready to sell and I'm trying to address a problem in our family room that seems to be gradually worsening. The walls are painted wood paneling, and there's crown molding at ceiling. There are a couple of places in the room where very small debris from attic seems to be slipping through cracks. Also, I've noticed quite a few spider webs in corners recently (definitely more than in rest of house), so maybe insects entering through openings?
This is a long-ago addition to our 1950s brick ranch and overall seems like quality work, but I'm wondering if there was a large gap between walls and ceilings that crown molding is hiding. I don't feel cold air or anything coming through, but I'm thinking debris is slipping through grooves in paneling. There's also a gas fireplace in wall where the debris seems to be the worst.
Is this something to be overly worried about? Any ideas for a quick fix that a somewhat handy, newly single mom could do?
