a few years ago, i bought two of them at Bed,Bath and Beyond places. I keep on in the garage [also AWESOME as a car snow sweeper] and one in the kitchen... only problem i have with it is.. the static it create, the pooches long hair sticks to it... but other than that... its great.

Ugggg - i still have to get that Lemon Oil. *hangs head* I've just been so busy.
I did not get out to get the Dutch Rubber Broom this weekend, either, so don't feel bad! (Thanks for the tip on BB&B) One only has so much time . . . my son and his delightful g/f were here this weekend and you know - the house did NOT get the cleaning it needed . . . b/c I took son's g/f out w/ me and treated us both to nice fresh manicures and pedicures . . . and we had such a blast . . . I did not even feel guilty that my bedroom and office are a wreck!!!!!

Love your suggestion re: car snow sweeper. We don't get that much snow here in CLT - but son is in the NC mtns . . . and there, it snows all winter . . . so I might as well buy him one, too - since it will be "multi-purpose."

So I will have to defer to someone who has tried it your type of glass. I would definitely test a small area down at the bottom and see if it clouds up the glass b/f I started spreading it all over. That way, if it clouds that little test patch, you can simply wipe it off, the spray on some 409 or another cleaner, and it will dissolve. I am worried the lemon oil may look like vaseline on clear, smooth glass!!!! This would NOT be good!!!!

If it does NOT cloud the glass . . . you will need to reapply it about once every 3 weeks, depending on how much water hits your glass, how hard your water is, etc.
Hmmmm Ani, never thought of that! Yes, you are correct, the new home will have the clear glass, not the textured type (as I have now). I'll test a small patch as you suggested. Another "trick" I read about was putting RainX on shower glass. DH has used it on his windshields for years and it's awesome for that use - never have tried it on the shower. The "look" of the European Clear glass is beautiful.....BUT, imo only if it's kept CLEAR and CLEAN!!! I'm certain I'll need to do something to keep it pristine looking, which is a "must" in my book!

Default Need your suggestions

Here is my situation.

My very furry furkid shakes her head and - well - the dribble goes all over. She is not one to drool - but after she drinks her water - she will shake her head.

There are two areas I need to clean and I am concerned about this second area, wh/ is wallpaper. I don't know when she shook herself off (or if she has been doing this for a while) but there are spots on the wallpaper.

I am worried about how to clean that area. This is an expensive designer paper - looks very much like a faux finish. I don't want to damage the paper but I am afraid how to handle it.

What would you suggest? Thank you for all ideas!!!!

Dog spit = glue.

I would use hot water dabbed on the spots if the manufacturer is unknown. Otherwise, I would call them first.

A glass wax can help. You have to get the glass absolutely clean first. Go after stubborn spots with a razor blade. Something like Liquid Glass might work well, if you can find it. I prefer it to RainX for my windshields and it is an awesome auto polish. RainX tends to leave a slight haze that I don't like.

Yes - GLUE!!!! You have dogs!!!! Seems we have shared doggie discussions in the past!

Well I will try the hot water . . . that may do it. So worried about damaging the surface or causing fading, ya know? Why didn't I think of that? LOL!!!!

Thanks Tule!!!!!

My mother did that once and nearly blew up the house. LOL! Needless to say, once was all it took.

Okay, I know this may sound idiotic, but what's the best way to get rid of set stains in carpet? Some people are telling me it can't be done - once they're set, they're set. *sigh*
We have a few doggie stains and they are driving me nuts. They happened before we really knew what we were doing and knew the proper cleaning techniques to get the stains completely out. Course, now she's housebroken and it's not an issue, but those dark spots in my carpet get under my skin! And of course, I have light carpet. Any suggestions?

in previous posting some people were getting good results with Spray-N-Wash on their carpet stains. I have yet to try it myself, but I am intrigued.

You're welcome Ani!

I have light carpet in the FM and a dog so I feel your pain. I usually get the stain up right away using this technique.

1. Use some carpet cleaner, let it set about 5 minutes and blot with damp sponge
2. Sprinkle some baking soda on stain and cover with white cotten towel. I let it set usually overnight then vacuum. I sometimes put a little table salt with the baking soda.

Good luck!

tulegirl -- i think it was Ani that originally mentioned the SnW ... on her advice, i started using it on spots, and spots that carpet cleaner would not get out... this stuff is like magic on carpeting!!

get it on your grocery list and pick up on the next time you are at the store.
