Hi,
my concrete driveway (~1000 sq. ft.) is about 3.5 weeks old. I haven't yet driven on it, and i've been looking for options as far as sealing it. It is regular concrete, 4000psi, light grayish color, broom finished.
I have some imperfections (cold joint) that bothers me....but the driveway looks much better after a rain, when it's wet. So i was wondering if there's a product that would let me have that darker finish after the sealing. i was told that the 'wet look' products would actually 'bring out' all the imperfections....not sure if that's true.
i was told to get the penetrating clear sealer, and if i want the imperfections to go away, add 'pigments' to the sealer. i was told that any other sealer i put will bring out the imperfections....
i really could use your help in figuring this out.
thank you!

My driveway is two weeks old. I was told to use a non-penetrating sealer. I wanted to add pigment and was talked out of it. I regret that decision. Yes, it has the wet look, but it dried horribly uneven. The driveway was beautiful until I applied sealer. Maybe I didn't apply evenly, but I can tell you I don't think it's as easy as everyone says. I now have two slabs done on a 900 sq. ft driveway and don't know where to go from here. I used Diamond Clear. It's supposed to be a good product, but if you care how it looks, definitely use the pigment or a sealer without the wet look that won't change how the concrete looks. I don't want you to end of feeling sick like I do about the way your driveway looks!
If you want it to look even, pour some sealer onto the concrete then use a paint roller (on a broom handle so you don't have to bend over) and spread it around.
