I've just moved into an apartment where I noticed an "aircycler" is installed - something similar to a thermostat.
After some research I figured it was for ventilation -improves it !
My concern is
1- Can I/Should I turn it off ?
2. If i don't, then in summers (the cooler air my leak out as it functions) and more importantly in winters, e.g. the last few days its been chilly that it keeps blowing in cooler air which I don't want.
I've never come across this thing before, so was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on how to deal with this nuisance ?
It's a fancy open window. Bringing in outside air may be something of value to you but it adds to the heating and cooling requirements/energy bills. If you live in a humid climate, expect higher indoor humidity levels during cooling season. In reality, the best way to force ventilation is to install high efficiency exhaust fans to remove the most objectionable air...bath and kitchen and run continuously.
thanks, so should I turn it off? or leave it on? on aircycler's website they say (in bold) - do not turn it off !!
