how are todays appliances more energy efficient? for example when ever I start the dishwasher it tells me that a normal wash cycle is over 2 hours long when my old machine took no more than an hour to complete a normal wash cycle and I would say it took about an hour and that's with using the sani wash wash and rise
you would need to look at water usage and electric used to tell. I bought a HE energy efficient about a year ago; and I could see the water usage drop quite a bit on bills there after. Efficiency isn't always about time.

IDK... my normal cycle takes 81 minutes (and 30 of that is the dry cycle).
So do I, but it takes me less time than the dishwasher, many of my dishes and stemware can't go in the dishwasher.........and if you use really hot water for rinsing, the dishes dry rapidly in the rack.
And in hard water areas, everyday glassware doesn't become foggy looking when handwashing versus the dishwasher.

Do you have any proof it's efficient?
