leo06, installing french drains is preferred only when you are wanting to spend more otherwise go for dehumidifier.

Is it really possible to dry out a basement simply by sealing the walls?

Is waterproofing the interior walls going to solve the problem Or you can waterproof your exterior walls, which is a better bet?

Currently there is a 2'x 3' window in the area we are thinking of having the walkout installed. From the top to the bottom of the window is made up of siding, and the balance is foundation concrete. From the top of the window to the ground is 65". The basement in that area is finished. The opening would lead out to our backyard. There is also another area with a 2'x3' window opening but is 60" from top of window to the ground. And this area is UNFINISHED.
Also would like to know how much it would cost to have 4 potlights installed in a finished area on the main floor.
