Looking for some opinions on indoor security cameras. Looking for wireless that store either on a local SD card or some sort of wireless base station. I'm not looking for "cloud" cameras that store to the cloud.

Make sure you get (PTZ) Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras.

I would recommend Lorex cameras, see below.

Something like this looks rather interesting. Looking for IP based camera without cloud storage.

Lightbulb For future-proof cameras, look for ONVIF compatibility

Personally, I don't see a lot of value in PTZ, I'm not sitting there watching the cameras live. My primary criteria are reliability, PoE, and ONVIF. I mostly look for reviews on CCTVforum and Amazon.

Y-Cam has cloud and non-cloud models. There are a number of Y-Cam clones on the market, quality of the clones varies greatly, some are legitimate licensees and quite good.

Many IP cameras can be set to upload to a NAS and, as fallback, spool to local SD card when network connectivity is down.

Look for both color and also low-light B&W performance, some cameras cheap out on LEDs or on the IR-cut filter.

If you have a 24 hour security guard (to operate it) and motion sensors, then get PTZ.

Otherwise get enough cameras to cover all the areas you want to monitor.
